It will depend on the plugin you use but basically there is indeed a fixed amount of IIR filters + FIR for each plugin. - HA-DSP CF is the latest plugin release. See below the DSP flow. 
- In the Left/Right PEQ: There are 10 PEQ band in each - In CF there are again 10 bands PEQ + FIR blocks inside the Crossfeed section. You have up to 7144 FIR taps to be used. DevTeam miniDSP, building a DSP community one board at a time.
