I have a 2.1 system.
How do I connect the Mini DSP DDRC-24 to the back of the REL Subwoofer and what setting should I use for the crossover and the volume knobs?
I'm going to be using Dirac Live 3.6.6 that I think it's the latest version. Any advice would be Wellcome. I'm new to this.
Thank you so much.

What is your amplifier?

I'm assuming that your plan is to use the miniDSP to provide a low-level signal to your sub and also to act as the crossover between your stereo system and the sub. Correct me if I am wrong.

In which case, you will need to use either one or two of the DDRC's RCA outputs to drive the sub's RCA input(s) (some RELs have a single low level input, some have two) and you will need to choose a crossover frequency and set that up in the crossover section of the DDRC. Choose a frequency that is no greater than the max frequency you can set on the REL.

I would set the crossover control on the REL to its highest frequency and use the REL's volume knob to balance the overall level between the sub and the main speakers, and set the crossover frequency on the DDRC to whatever you had been using with the sub before, as a starting point.

There's an article in the Community Tutorials about sub integration - it is written for the 2X4 but it may be useful in setting the scene for you.

Reason I’m asking about the amp is it seems a lot of people buy the 2x4/ddrc24 to integrate a sub but also want to use it with an integrated amp rather than a power amp which doesn’t make things simple.

I have a Hegel H190 and I listen exclusively from a BlueSound Node.

Does its home theatre input bypass the pre-amp/internal volume control?

you can’t run the sub off the minidsp with crossovers between mains and sub set there while still controlling volume from the Hegel.

Yes and yes, if I connect the sub to the Minidsp I will not be able to control the volume of the Sub.

You will be able to control the volume of both if you use the Hegel’s home theatre input, bypassing it’s volume control and effectively using it as a power amp while the minidsp controls volume for both mains and sub.
