DDRC-24 to MiniDSP Flex 7 months 1 week ago #64382

What are the advantages of upgrading to the MiniDSP Flex?
And is the remote control included? When I tried to order the Flex, it appeared in my cart.
Can the Dirac license be transferred from my DDRC-24?

What are the advantages of upgrading to the MiniDSP Flex?

That's a broad question as there are 4 different models - 3 with 4 output channels and one with 8 output channels.

The advantage of the Flex-8 is obvious - with current miniDSP hardware it is the no-brainer option if you are wanting to do a 3-way or a 4-way speaker system (or 2-way plus sub, etc).

The other 3 differ in their particular combination of input/output options, so their advantages will to some extent depend on what you plan to use for the rest of your system. They all have Bluetooth as an input option, which can be handy, and they have a display which shows you what input/parameter set you are using, which is a nice-to-have but by no means essential. I haven't looked in detail at the spec to see what improvements (if any) there are over the 2x4 HD - I needed to upgrade to 8 channels from the 4 of the HD so went for the Flex 8.
