pre Dirac setup , turn off all crossovers including BM crossovers…. Turn off any TA or Peq 


Run Multichannel Dirac for your active system with crossovers off (and a protect cap on tweet) 

In Dirac group everything in one group and create a target 
then ungroup into pairs 
dirac 1-2 tweets 
dirac 3-4 midrange 
dirac 56 midbass 
Dirac 7 sub 
dirac 8 not used 

pull curtains over the so only each drivers pairs are in passband, so curtain off to the knee of natural response of each drivers pair 

Send filter to dsp 

go back to plug-in and turn on crossovers using LR4 or BW18  and get the tonality desired by discovering the crossovers 

once you have it sounding good do it all over again. Start from beginning and do this 

go to plug in and turn off crossovers, and go to PEQ AND TURN ON APF and center it where your crossovers will be. Choose a 2nd order AFP for LR4 with a Q of .7 and a 2nd order APF with a Q of 1 for BW18…. We basically want Dirac to linearize the all pass filters, because we’re going to replace the allpass filters after Dirac with the crossovers!! 

then go to Dirac and do it all over again all new measurements…. Make target , separate into groups of pairs again as before 

send filter to dsp 

go to plug in and turn back on crossovers and turn off APF

whollah , linear phase multi channel dirac 

enjoy !! 

 

If you know that allpass that’s equal to your other crossover you can also do that 

like a 1st order for a butt12 ….. etc etc 
I also believe it would be “close enough “ for a LR12 


you just want the allpass to mimic the phase behavior of the crossover, just make sure to turn off the all pass filters after Dirac and replace them with crossovers that match!! 

So for sub do one APF for the BM crossover

for midbass do The BM and LPF 

for midrange do BM, LP and HP 

for tweet do BM and HPF
