Hi Team, I have a DDRC-24 taking a stereo signal, and sending mono to all outputs. Two go to a stereo integrated amp with A + B (in-ceiling) speakers playing and the other two go each to a sub. I was thinking about daisy-chaining a 2x4 revB (not HD) off one of the DDRC-24's analogue outs. I'd swap the sterro integrated for a multi-channel out, send 3 outputs of the DDRC-24 direct to it for the three most important in ceiling speakers, then off the 2x4 RevB run one output to the multi channel amp for the last (and least important) in-ceiling, and use two of its outputs for multi-sub.  Sorry this is longer than I intended to get to the question. Is the 2x4 rev B good enough to integrate a couple of subs?

I'm struggling to get my head round your setup to be honest but I'll mention one thing that may well be relevant. The maximum time delay that can be applied by a 2x4 is much shorter than a 2x4 HD, which you could well find a relevant limitation for subs. The difference is 7.5 ms max vs 80 ms.

Edit: I've never used a 2x4 to comment directly on performance. Other than the time delay my hunch is it would be fine for a sub but you'd really want to hear from someone who has tried it.

Hi @Ultrasonic, Thanks.

So I use a SHD in another room for music listening and I put my DDRC-24 to use in the main family area for background music from 4 in ceiling speakers, all run in mono, with a couple of old small subs also integrated via MSO.

Diagrams attached.

OK so I'll check what delays MSO puts on my subs today. If its less than the 7.5ms I should be OK. Do you think there are any quality concerns with the 2x4? It is only for subs and the in-ceiling that will run off it is the least critical. The bigger delay I suppose will be on the DDRC-24 since I'll have to delay the speakers to account for any delays MSO wants me to apply to the mains plus the latency of the 2x4.

The amp may see the 4th input as a ground loop and the non hd is .9v and hd/ddrc is 2v

so you would kill all your gain to match to .9v

i would say get a 2x4hd so they are the same unit, same output impedance, same voltage

then should work fine

@denver8me4dinner, @Ultrasonic,
Guys, thanks for the input. Think I've got a clear answer. 2x4 is not the right solution here.
