Got a chance to try again, this time with the speakers at -14 dB (boosted the volume and mic gain). Unfortunately, the sweeps are still just barely audible, no usable measurements.

Dear All

Some of you already contacted us for this issue. We investigated all last week and found the culprit.
We do have a workaround to solve the issue and are rebuilding a new DDRC-24 firmware build. This issue only affects the DDRC-24 with the latest combined DDRC_24/2x4HD/Flex/Flex DL firmware. There are a lot of changes in the background and we missed that issue unfortunately. We expect a new build within this week so check the user downloads section.

If you have this issue and need a solution asap, please raise a support ticket. Our team will give you the step to solve the problem.

Hello,

I bought a miniDSP Flex 1 month ago and I just activated the Dirac Live license.

I have exactly the same symptom: the Volume calibration is ok but as soon as we start the measurement, there is almost no sound coming out of the speakers. We guess a sweep signal drowned in a background noise...

I am using Windows 11 build 22598.200. The miniDSP is switched to DDRC24 Flex DL version 1.16 and with the firmware delivered in 1.24.
Dirac Live in version 3.3.3

Please release a fix so I can use my purchase for this purpose

Regards

Jonathan F.

I have this exact same issue.  Purchased last week miniDSP Flex with Dirac.  Only fix is to switch my input to analog in the middle of the sweep and the sound comes back.  MacOSX latest updates, latest DDRC plug in, latest Dirac software.  Tried reset, reboot, everything.  Please fix.

Dev_Team posted earlier in the thread that they have a solution and that anyone with this issue should contact miniDSP support (via the link at the top of the page).

Yeah I saw that. I started a ticket with support a week ago and linked to this thread but they haven't responded with the 'workaround' they reference here. Now maybe that's because this 'workaround' is built into latest firmwares (which I am using) so there is no point in them telling me about it?

I'm sure you'll hear from support. They can be busy sometimes and we have just had the weekend. No reason to assume a big problem just yet.

This sounds very similar to the problem I'm having with the DDRC-88D.

Question, when you try a measurement and get only a very faint sweep, if you then go back to the level settings page, has it reduced the master volume to something like -95db?

That's what seems to happen in my case. For some reason after you set the levels properly, then go to the measurement page, it seems to reset the master level back down to the initial -95.5db.

Same issue.  DDRD-24
Set the volume on calibration step and works as expected, but to to measurement and do sweeps and its barely audible.

Well you can add one more data point to the list. I'm having the same problem, Mac OS, Dirac 3.4.4 and 2x4HD. What's particularly frustrating is that it's worked numerous times before, I've done about 4 or 5 full calibrations in the past month or so, but now, even with ear splitting levels during level setting (-20db or higher at speaker level) there's just the barest whisper from the speakers during the actual sweep. I have no idea what could have changed, there are no references to this issue on the Dirac website (not the greatest or most helpful to be truthful) and it seems we are now what, some 9 months from the dev team indicating they've seen the bug, and there's been no update on the issue?

Well, in my case, the switching the input back to 'Analog' trick worked and sweep volume is back to normal. Not sure if this is a plug in issue or a Dirac issue, but it would certainly be useful if it was mentioned in a help file or user's manual by at least one of the parties (my vote goes for Dirac since this bug renders their product useless). If this is mentioned anywhere except in these forums I have yet to run across it.
