Hi, I'm actually working in my DAW with Dirac Plugin. It reports a latency of 42.5ms
I'm seriously considering a DDRC-88D, but I have 2 questions :
- Will the latency with DDRC-88D with Dirac active will be 16ms as I found on this forum ?
- will the AES output will be clocked in sync with the incoming AES Signal ? I'm intending to connect the DDRC-88D on insert on my AD/DA converter. Nothing is clear about AES clocking with Minidsp's boxes.

Thanks for your help

I have same question and concern. I tried to look at inside of my DDRC-88D, and found it uses 4 of TI's SRC4382, which is asynchronous sampling rate converter with AES input. So, I guess it might have reference clock - but could not find the clock source yet.

I also have RME ADI-4 DD, and I use it to convert between ADAT on my audio interface and AES for DDRC-88D, but ADI-4 sync indicator says the clock of AES from DDRC-88D is NOT sync'ed with ADAT clock. That means DDRC-88D has own clock source to recover input AES and generate output AES.

My question is, is there any way to switch the reference clock to one of AES input clock? If not, how accurate is the reference clock inside DDRC-88D? Less than 20ppm or not? I'm going to use the DDRC-88D for realtime/live production, so clock synchronization and/or accuracy is so important.

Thanks
