Guys, I've downloaded the latest version of Dirac software. I ran it and measured just one position to get the delays between left and right identified before running Multi-sub Optimizer. It ran fine all the way through for that. After loading the settings from MSO I ran Dirac fully. It took measurements but then hangs when I click on design filters. 

Ive seen a note on another post that the latest version of Dirac doesn't work on Windows 10 32bit. www.minidsp.com/forum/dirac-series-suppo...2-win10-32-bit#57438

Has anyone had a similar issue? Does anyone know if this is getting resolved? Is there a workaround? Perhaps does it work if less measurements are taken?

Do you have a 32 bit Windows system?

(For the little it's worth, I've used 3.1.2 OK on a 64 bit Windows 10 laptop and my SHD.)

I've just checked and my operating system is 64-bit. I'm also working with an SHD. 
I can't understand why it's just stuck on the blue circle of death! Very frustrating!

Edit: tried it again the next day. Seems to be behaving again. Maybe my PC was the problem.

Odd indeed.. We run all our test here with the latest version and no problem. 
We've indeed seen this issue very rarely (few times over the few years we tune) but it was network related. We "think" that it's an issue with Dirac server side not handshaking the filter generation process.. just a wild wild guess.. . We typically go back and start again and the server start to behave. That's obviously assuming you have a correct internet connection.

@DevTeam, I was forgetting about the link back to the Dirac servers. Makes sense now particularly given that the next day when I tried it all ran smoothly. If it ever happens again I'll leave it 5-10mins and try again. Thanks.

This is only a suggestion but may well be worth looking at I often find that the USB cable used between your PC and the MiniDSP unit makes a difference . Firstly the shorter the better , secondly buy a decent quality USB cable the very cheap amazon level ones can cause connection problems . One brand I have great confidence in is Supra not by any means the most expensive but very high quality construction and connections are very solid . Worth looking at as cheap USB cables can cause DIRAC to slow and drop out .

Thanks, yes agree. I had to buy a better a longer one so went for a good quality option. I think my problem was probably just a poor connection but if others have a similar issue perhaps the cable is something to consider.
