Hi again everyone,

I've just noticed that my version of Dirac is 3.05 and the latest version available from Dirac is 3.0.14. Should I simply download the latest from Dirac and install it? Will the install recognise an existing version and upgrade preserving settings. Will I need to remember my Dirac password? to complete the process?

Edit: Ignore all that - its refreshingly straight forward. Download and click installer. Dirac updates itself, keeps settings and doesn't need any passwords! Great.

Thank you for the above and sharing your experience of the up dates . Not sure if it is just my system which is microsoft based but I find that uninstalling the old version and then doing a new instal with the latest version is the best solution any settings etc are in the saved files of my filters and sessions anyway . If I just update i do find that things can glitch and hang a little .

I do want to be clear that this is just my issues on my system and others may find it a little different . Worth trying if your updates cause you some problems.

What sort of issues have you experienced? When I ran Dirac and it did it’s sweep, the sweep sound kinda... wobbled as it got to the high frequencies. It’s difficult to describe it was a bit of a “wah, wah, wah, wah, wah” wobble!! I never had this on the previous version. Note I upgraded version and from a ddrc24 to an SHD at the same time.

The issues I had were that the DIRAC Live would not load correctly and had issues communicating with a DDRC 24 and a DDRC 22D . There was also crashes when making measurements . A complete uninstall and load of the latest version cured this straight away so now just to be sure I uninstall any previous version and do a new clean install this is probably not needed but just find it to be good practice and takes very little more time over running the update.
