Been using 2x4HD for a few months before upgrading it DDRC24.

My setup is 2.1.

On REW i measure each channel and sub and generate the filters to each channel including the sub then apply it on the mini dsp for Left, RIght and Sub

On DIRAC, i do not see the filters for the Sub & during measurement phase i do not see the Dirac output to sub, i only see CHannels 1 & 2, which is normally labelled Dirac 1 & 2.

My workflow is:
1) Measure using REW each
2) Set Xovers
3) Re-measure using REW
4) Measure and Calibrate using Dirac 3.0
i don't bother time alignment anymore since Dirac does that, i normally still time align when i had the 2x4 HD

Does DIRAC see the sub? does it apply the filters to the sub?

Post graphs.
Do you hear the subs during the sweep ?

The most important bit that you're missing is that Dirac DOES NOT sort the time alignment of your sub to main speakers. You need to set the crossovers and sort the time alignment as you did previously. Dirac works only on two channels, so your left speaker plus sub as one channel, and your right channel plus sub as the other. It measures each as a combination and applies filters to both as a combination. It can't apply anything different to an individual speaker and the sub.

Hi,

My DDRC-24 is in the post!
Should arrive next week.

I'm also going to use it with a 2.1 system.
Using REW, I'm happy I can set the correct crossovers but not sure where to start with adjusting time alignment between subs and speakers.

Is there a link to a REW time alignment guide anywhere?

Thanks

P.s. Why won't dirac time align the sub?
On my 2-way speakers won't it time align between woofer and tweeter?
Isn't the sub just an "extension" of the speaker?

Not sure why you deleted your post @asx77? I just tracked down this post I made on another forum to answer your question!

Hi, Thanks.

I deleted it because I wrote a P.S. But then realised I could just have edited my first post! Not sure if you saw the last min question about why dirac can't core t the time alignment.

Thanks again for the link - I'll take a read.

I didn't. Dirac on the DDRC-24 only has two independent channels whereas you'd need at least three to be able to adjust time alignment of a sub.

It looks like there's been a similar thread here too: www.minidsp.com/forum/minidsp-for-newbie...h-dirac?limitstart=0
