Hello all,
I'm dipping my toes in room correction and found a used DDRC-22D to purchase. How does the licensing work? Is it a code you enter after installing dirac on Windows? (I downloaded ver 3.02 from the dirac website through clicking a link from here, I think). Is there other software I have to download to use the DDRC-22D? Thanks in advance!

I downloaded a manual and read through the license activation procedure. I should rephrase my original question then to a couple:

When purchasing a used DDRC-22D, does anyone know what's needed to legally successfully use it in terms of software?

I see there is a purchaser email address and password required to activate different from this forum account and since I am not purchasing the unit from Minidsp I would not be able to activate with *my* email address.

Does Minidsp have a mechanism for activating software for buyers of used units? If not, there might be no resale value if I were to buy a DDRC-22D from them and decide later to upgrade to a different brand.

Hope someone reading this has gone this route, I'd really appreciate you chiming in!

I've recently bought a 2nd hand DDRC-88D. I had to contact minidsp support (I think via support.minidsp.com/support/tickets/new) with my minidsp account name and the device's serial number to get access to the associated minidsp software downloads. That was done on the next business day, and no other license transfers or anything at all with dirac was required. No contact information, license codes or anything else from the previous owner was needed.

I'm not sure if the previous owner has activated the Dirac for my DDRC-88D or if it came pre-activated from the factory.
