Im new to the the ddrc and Im hoping I can get some guidance on whether what I am planning is possible.
My aim is to introduce the ddrc into the chain for my av setup.
What I want to do ideally is connect the 2 main speakers to and 2 subwoofers to the ddrc and use Dirac but with additional parameters for the subs.
My understanding is that dual outputs for subs can be enabled but it will be a mono signal as far as the DIRAC correction is concerned.
I have two unidentical subwoofers that currently work together well when using the standard minidsp 2x4. The minidsp uses some delays to one sub to get the best possible summed response and also some peq filters that make the subs work well together.
What I was hoping would work is I can apply the same settings to the ddrc in the output 3 and 4 channels and then apply dirac to the mains and the subwoofer. My interpretation of the manual seems to imply this is possible but there is a lot to take in so wanted to know if I have misunderstood how this will work before I spend an afternoon trying to do it. Im afraid I set my output settings which then get wiped out when dirac is engaged.
If this works then the plan is to then set the av up with Audyssey xt32. I would set the mains to large with no subwoofer so all output below 100hz + LFE is sent to the ddrc24. Run audyssey setup to eq all channels and get delays and levels set up. Finally O would put in left+right bypass mode so the only correction for mains and sub is Dirac.
Does that sound like a resonable plan or am I set up to fail?
Any advise would be really appreciated.
