Hi everyone! :)

New owner of the DDRC88A here! I just bought a DDRC88A to use it with my existing Marantz SR8012 AVR.

Need desperate help on how to optimize/ integrate dual subwoofers as one before room correction and the routing of inputs/dirac slots/outputs as the manual doesn't fully address what I require.

My HT setup is 5.2.4. DDRC88A handles the 5.2 channels, whilst the Marantz AVR internal amps handles the x.x.4 overhead channels.

My subs are dual identical. One placed nearfield and the other farfield. Both subs are non equidistant from my MLP

On the DDRC88A outputs, my sub 1 and 2 is connected to outputs #6 & #7 respectively. On the DDRC88A inputs, AVR's sub preout 1 is connected to input #6 .

MLP - there is only 1 MLP in my HT and no other seats.

My intent is that I want to optimize/ integrate my dual subs "as one sub" before room correction, so that Dirac Live detects and EQ my dual subs as a single overall combined subs response instead of separately as 2 individual subs.

How must I assign/route the inputs, Dirac channels and outputs on the DDRC88A to achieve that? The DDRC88 manual did mention y-cable method but this doesn't work for me as my 2 subs are not equidistant to MLP and I want to be able to manage my 2 subs separately on the BM module to set delays/ PEQs /etc on each sub.

Currently, the attached screenshots show how my subs are routed on the DDRC88A. Is this correct? or should I route my 2 subs to a same Dirac slot in my OUTPUTS tab?

Anything else i need to set/take note on DLCT/BM/DDRC88A to achieve this?

=) Thx in advance

Quick question, are you planning to use the Bass management on the 88BM or not?

Right now, your config doesn't since you're not using the LFE_mgt row at bottom for your subs. You're using the LFE from your AVR.
If you want the AVR to do bass management, you're all good with that config.

Later on, you can always upgrade to use the BM.

As for Dirac, start simple with 2 x subs tuned by Dirac since you have the spare channels. Later you can always try to tune BOTH subs as ONE dirac live channel. But that's not going to be the first step.

your first step = start simple. :-)

Thanks. I have the BM module. And intend to try out both.

Yes I am starting simple by using 2 outputs on the DDRC88A for the subs. And on Dirac, I had to configure it so that 2 subs are shown.

If this is the case, can u help me understand if Dirac EQ/optimise my 2 subs as different individual subs response only? Or does it EQ them for my subs both individually as well as a combined response?

Reason asking is because after Dirac room calibration, at the FILTERS page, the frequency response and targets of the subs I see seem to suggest its individual only. There is no combined subs response where I can apply a filter on the combined subs response. My intent is to apply a house curve on the combined subs response of my 2 subs to have a 8db rising curve from 100hz to 25hz.

For what you're wanting to do, I think you mean to route Dirac 6 to both subs on the Mixer tab. On the Routing tab, turn off the routing to Dirac 7. Do your calibration with 6 channels.

(I don't know how the Shaker fits in so am ignoring it...)
