Dirac 2.3.0 confirms that it has connected to UMIK1 and DDRC24 but when I proceed to volume calibration page I get error msg : Error during measurement (not ready) and also Error During Measurement (Device Internal Error). Using Windows 10 - Recording Device Selected UMIK1 and Playback Device DDRC24 all showing OK in Windows 10. Set-up Front Speakers pre out from Denon 4400H in to input 1/2 of DDRC24 and Out 1/2 going in to Emotiva Power Amp. UMIK 1 / DDRC connected to PC via USB. Please can someone help me, or point me in the right direction as I am new to Dirac, Thanks a million.

There's a thread about known issues running Dirac 2.3 and miniDSP advise using 2.2.3 instead.

Thanks Ultrasonic, I will try and uninstall 2.3 and then install 2.2.3. - hope that works.:-)

Downgrading to Dirac 2.2.3 from Dirac 2.3 worked just fine with DDRC24. Thanks a million Ultrasonic for your guidance.

Wanted your advise on another small issue. In DDRC24 when calibrating volume I set the Master Volume to -12 DB to get desired level. I synchronize from PC to DDRC. When next time I start system the Master Volume goes back to -95 DB and strangely sometime to -33 DB. So basically I get no sound from my front speakers I need to then attach my PC, connect to DDRC24 and set the Master Volume back to -12 DB and all works fine. While it solves the problem it is very inconvenient to do that, and at times I just leave the power on the DDRC for days so it does not forget my setting (not ideal also). Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong. Thanks

I'm not sure if this is quite what is happening to you but for info. it is expected that the volume will be set very low (could well be =95 dB) when Dirac is launched as a deliberate safety feature, to reduce the chances of accidentally sending to high a signal to any speakers and damaging them. If you're talking about when the device is switched off and then switched on again then perhaps it is similarly done for safety reasons?

(I have a 2x4 HD and and SHD by the way, so I have no direct experience with the DDRC24.)

After some advice please folks.

Does this sound like the Ver 2.3.0 vs Ver 2.2.3 issue I have been facing. :woohoo:

Spent 1 hr today trying to get DL 2.0 working. I have a minidsp 22D that is working fine with DL1.0. I recently got a new Dell Laptop with W10 so thought I would run DL 2.0 My system runs from Lagoon mini PC via usb to Mutec via AES to 22D via AES to Kii 3 speakers. I run 22d vol at max and use the Kii 3 controller to control overall Vol levels.

I have the DL 2.0 manual with me and W10 is set up correctly as per the Manual. My 22d vol is set to 100% (tried it at about 80% as well) and I raise the pink noise via the Kii 3 controller vol.

I have the minidsp 22D patch on my W10 Laptop. Installed DL 2.0 software as well. Created DL login.

Plugged in the cable to the laptop/22D & Umik1/Laptop.

Started 22D minidsp patch. All connected fine. Hit the Start DL button on the4 patch. Attunuation in the Patch set to -10 as advised. Master Vol set to -31.5 No probs, DL started and recognised 22D immediately. Loaded Umik1 files.

Forward to set up 'Vol Calibration' and that's were the trouble was consistent. Eventually I could get a level reading on either L or R speaker but never on both. After setting one or the other 1st the 2nd speaker would keep coming up with 'Device Internal error'. I never pushed the Master Vol over the -31.5 or the Mic Gain over 100%. According to my DB metre on my iphone it was only pushing 80db vol pink noise.

Each time I went to set the 2nd speaker (either L or R) the pink noise button will switch on but not off. and when I hit the off button I get the Internal Error message. I have to reset the software each time to turn the pink noise off.

Any thoughts on why the DL software keeps throwing the Error message? I presume I should revert to 2.2.3 as discussed above.

Just set up W10 laptop, fired up newly downloaded DL software version 2.2.3 instead of the most current 2.3 and like magic the software worked perfectly 1st time.

Really disappointing that new firmware 2.3 has bugs that prevent the intended purpose from working.

Maybe the software engineers at Dirac Live need to have a good hard look in the mirror or undertake further beta testing.

And the moral of the story is 'The Internet has an answer for almost every question' if you search long enough.

For info. I believe the issue is strictly one of miniDSP compatability, but that apparently Dirac Live didn't provide this to miniDSP ahead of release for testing. Which is disappointing.

I'm getting the very same error that Cazzesman has reported. Unfortunately this was not fixed with changing to DL2.2.3.
Any ideas of what I can try next?
thanks

I got an error like that once yesterday but rebooting my laptop resolved it.

No luck with rebooting etc. The crash happens each time just as the Right (2nd) level check is coming to an end. The test signal is then left constantly on.
I'm not sure what else to try. Should I return the unit?
thanks

James perhaps try a complete uninstall of both 22d plugin and dirac live software. Reinstall both, using the 2.2.3 firmware and give it another go. Check the minidsp manual for the DL 2.0 re all the things in W10 that need to be turned on and/or off.
