Hi, I just received my DDRC-24 and I'm presently reading the manual, before beginning the installation.
At page 22 ,(attached) there is something that makes absolutely no sense. The software asks for the filter type, and the proposed answers seems to be "bypass" and "bypassed" (What's the difference?). Well, anyone of those words is NOT a filter type. I would have expected Bessel, Butterworth, or L-Riley.
And "Bypass filter" gives you the choice of, oh surprise, some filter types!

I think that they inverted the headings, so "Bypass filter" should read "Filter Type", and inversely.
I also think that the heading "Bypass filter" is not clear. It should rather read "Filter Status". And the two choices of answer should be "Active" and "Bypassed".

Am I right with this, or am I just totally confused?
Edit: I still haven't seen the software, so "maybe" it has been corrected there???

@Altair

Quite simple: To Bypass processing = not go through the algorithm. So when you Bypass a filter (PEQ/Xover), it will just turn it off. It's like an ON/OFF button. "nothing" to do with the filter type (completely different section). Once you see software, it will make more sense.

From a usage point of view that button/selection should simply be Bypassed or even better OFF and its opposite ON.

Let's look at it from a user's view:
If I want that particular entry to be active or turned on the entry should be ON. If I want that entry to be off then it be OFF.

Bypass and Bypassed is confusing because when it says Bypass the entry is ON!! Clearly, according to devteam, Bypass means not to go through the system; but in this case Bypass clearly does the opposite, i.e it does go through the system.

Perhaps in the next iteration of the release this can be labelled more clearly.

I agree that a the button simply toggling between On and Off would be clearer.

However, in use I don't actually ever remember struggling to understand the current labelling, with the fact that any applied crossover is shown in orange making it clear to me what is going on.

@devteam, and others, my post was intentionally sarcastic, but devteam, have you noticed that the headers "Bypass" and "Filter Type" are interverted with each other in the MANUAL? In the software they're OK.
Of course, I didn't have any problem in the software, it was quite evident how it works, but I just wanted to point out the slipup in the manual, and also suggest a different wording.
