Hi,

I got a brand new 2x4HD, and i want to upgrade it to DDRC24, so i can run DIRAC2.0.
The computer i use is a Appel MAC Pro with macOS Catalina.

I purchased the upgrade package 2x4HD to DDRC24, and downloaded the "DDRC-24 software for Dirac 2.0" zip file (31,37 MB) from my minidsp user downloads section.

I unzip it, and enter the Plugin folder, choose Mac folder, and run the DDRC-24.pkg.......that works, and the program runs, and i guess, installs the necessary plugins.

So far so good!

Now i want to do the firmware upgrade.

Then i enter the XMOS_Firmware folder and the Firmware_Upgrade_Tools, and the MAC folder and run the file "miniDSP USB DFU".........and get the message:

The application “miniDSP USB DFU” can’t be opened.

What am i doing wrong, my minidsp 2x4HD are connected through USB, and it is working fine with the 2x4HD Platform app........but why will the firmware upgrade program not run on my MAC?

By the way, i also tried to download the DDRC-24 software for Dirac 1.0" zip file (115,81 MB), and do the same firmware upgrade from there....still i got the same: The application “miniDSP USB DFU” can’t be opened.

Anyone out there that can help me?

Maybe try right-click and select Open from the menu? (Like on the main installation page)

Hi John,

Thank you.
I did try that, but i still get the message :

The application “miniDSP USB DFU” can’t be opened.

Anyone had the same problem on a Mac, when trying to run the program to update the firmware from 2x4HD to DDRC-24?

Hello.
I had the same problem on my Mac. I think the software is not written for macOS Catalina. I tried to run the windows version of the software from a PC. That worked for me.

Thanks for the warning. A new DFU loader was posted online 3weeks ago to solve that issue btw. It supports Catalina.
