Hello,
I have a DDRC-24 set up plugged into the output of my preamplifier and directly into the input of my amplifier (2 channel system). I am using the UMK-1 mic with the appropriate txt. file.

I set my levels and everything is good (channel balance, output levels appropriate, etc.). When I take my first measurement I see that the sound levels on the graph are very low...nothing approaches 0dB, everything looks like it is about 30dB down for some reason. I plowed through and took all of the measurements and Dirac created a filter. I noticed that the filter was at the appropriate level. I loaded the filter and played the system and it was very quiet. I logged into the DDRC-24 directly and saw that the level was -35dB...I didn't set it at that, Dirac did. When I set it to 0dB the output was fine.

Two questions:
1. Any idea why this is happening?
2. Does this strange level impact the quality of the filter that was created?

I don't recall having this issue prior to the update.

Any help is appreciated.

I assume it would have been done to lower the noise floor, heightening the filter I would have thought would increase the height of the noise floor. If you can't hear any noise or are happy about it, then I wouldn't worry. :)

Sounds perfectly normal to me. If you take your measurements at or near 0dB you will overload the mic resulting in clipping. DIRAC will tell you if your measurement levels are set too high or too low to generate a filter. Once you've loaded your filter you can raise the DIRAC's output level to 0dB.

The lower level on the sweep is a choice from Dirac to make sure it's not damaging the speaker as each system is unique.
See the user manual step, make sure to increase the levels till you have a nice input signal.
