Is it possible to have multiple input channels routed to the same output channels of the DDRC-88a? This would allow me to have multiple sources going to the same set of speakers.

If so would the signals from both sources be mixed at the output?

Hello murtazao,
this is possible, but only with the BM plugin: www.minidsp.com/products/dirac-series/ddrc-88bm
Signals from multiple sources can be mixed if needed, or you can save separate device configurations with different inputs enabled in order to avoid receiving noise from inactive sources.

Check the manual for DDRC-88A for details.

Thanks, that’s good to know. I would like to keep the separate inputs independent (and not mixed) so I can effectively switch between sources, using the same speakers. Will this require the BM plugin as well?

Yes. In the basic plugin, signal routing is fixed to a scheme which allows sending different inputs to different outputs only (as far as I understood from the manual - I only have experience with the BM version), therefore you will need the BM plugin to route all inputs to one output and to enable one input exclusively.

Note that you will have to switch inputs by switching device presets. Only 4 presets can be stored, so if you want to have several different filter configurations AND several different inputs, this will be a severe limit on how many combinations can be used. For example, with two sources (s1, s2) and two filter sets (f1, f2), all 4 slots will be already occupied if you need all combinations (s1f1, s1f2, s2f1, s2f2). With this in mind, I think a better option for you would be to use a passive selector like this
www.amazon.com/Nobsound-Audio-Balanced-C...lector/dp/B07QVKPR2V
and connect all sources through it to a single input on the DDRC. This would solve the task of switching between sources while not limiting the flexibility of filter setup and not requiring to purchase the BM upgrade.

Hope this helps.
