I would be grateful for some advice. I have a pc based music system with a Synology NAS drive connected (cat 6) to a SoTM SMS 200 ultra streamer and that's connected (usb) to a TAD DA 1000 DAC. What minidsp devise with Dirac 2 would be the most suitable in my system? Any suggestions and advice will be much appreciated.

Hi, the SHD Studio is the best fit. If you plan to integrate subs, the SHD.

Thanks John. The SHD has a DAC and a streamer built in, is that right? My SMS 200 ultra streamer and the da1000 DAC are pretty good components, more so the TAD, which I'd rather not have to replace. Is there an alternative?

The SHD Studio, perhaps? Connect USB from your streamer on the input side, and coax to your DAC on the output side. Yes it has a streamer but you don't have to use it.

How does the SHD Studio compare with the DDRC-22D? Are they the same except for the streamer?

Hello DonR,
DDRC-22D and SHD Studio are very different devices. Both provide Dirac Live support and digital I/O, but SHD Studio has two extra output channels, an analogue output for headphones, a USB audio interface, network streaming support, extra signal processing in addition to Dirac filters, a display and 12 V power supply... Check specifications and user manuals for details.
