Wondering about the quality of the analog sections. What are the SNR and THD specs through the unit (say, with processing disabled). Alternately, the SNR and THD specs for the ADCc and DACs you use.

I believe the analog hardware is the same as the 4x10 HD.

I don't beleive I2S input is supported.

Maybe you should look at the DDRC-88D?

I have a nanoAVR HD for bass management and a DL for Dirac Live. I was considering alternatives to do BM and DL from AES3 inputs. The DDRC-88D would fit the bill but the 88A has better DACs than my LUCID ADA 8824 by the numbers. An "88DA" would be ideal, hence my interest in I2S.

Ah! Okto DAC8 Pro. Under $1200 too. I know what I am getting when my Lucid ADA 8824 dies. Better be rack mount.

It is but there is marginally bad design news. It comes with 1RU rack ears. It takes up space above and below the 1RU space, even if you take the feet off. So, you can either rack it in 3RU or place it on a 2RU shelf. The problem is the LCD display board is vertical behind the front panel and too tall. I have suggested alternatives. For some this might be a nit to overlook at under US$1200. For others it might be a deal-breaker.
