So I successfully installed the DDRC-24 upgrade to my 2x4HD. Considering my lack of luck with all things computers this was a HUGE victory for me and my limited computer knowledge. The problem occurs when I try to run the Dirac Live Calibration Tool. When I open the program it recognizes my DDRC. On the next page it asks for a "Recording Device" and "Recording Channel" or something like that. Under "Recording Device" it says NONE. When I click open the menu NONE is the only choice given. No choices are given for the "recording channel". So what am I doing wrong?

Do you have a UMIK-1 connected to the computer?

Got my UMIK-1 yesterday and did my first room correction. WOW! :woohoo: Holy smokes!!! What a difference it made. I'm hearing details in the music I hadn't noticed before. A chime over here a previously hidden vocal over there. That sort of thing. It's like having a magnifying glass for your ears.

I did some A/B'ing and the chime and vocal are there without correction but they are so buried in the sound that unless you're specifically listening for them you won't hear them. With room correction it's like "how did I miss that before?" I look forward to the weekend so I can refine my mic positioning and maybe tweak the target curve a bit.

You know what the really cool thing is about this? It's like having a whole new record collection to listen to again. ;)
