I have been considering at the SHD for streaming and DRC and wish to know if it will be able to run Dirac 2 with stereo subs in a 2.2 configuration.

This question has arisen because I have also been looking at the NAD 658 ( yes, I confess ;) ) . In correspondence with tech support at NAD I was informed that sub outputs are only mono, not stereo. As per NAD this is in accordance with their Dirac licensing agreements. I am curious to know if this is only specific to NAD’s implementation of DIrac or a general change in Dirac 2?

Can the dev team advise on this? Assuming Dirac 2 runs on the current SHD or a future version of the SHD platform, will it only work as 2.1 , not 2.2?

I sincerely hope that it is only the NAD version that is limited, and that Dirac are not restricting bass management in general.

the SHD has 4 channel output that you can configure any way you like (matrix mixer), so also as 2.2. The Dirac tool will work on whatever the combined output is.
