Just got my DRC-88A-BM wired up yesterday, and set up 2 configurations for my recording studio. The first one lets me monitor on my near fields (Neumann KH120A's), and the second one lets me monitor on my midfields (ATC SCM-50Asl's). I find the delay in switching configurations to be a little frustrating. Is there any way to speed this up?

In particular, I was wondering if I could use 4 inputs to the DRC-88, and set up a config so that inputs 1&2 go to outputs 1&2 (near fields), and inputs 3&4 go to outputs 3&4 (midfields). This would let me use my audio interface to rapidly toggle between Monitor A or Monitor B (which was how I was using it prior to the DRC-88 entering into the mix). It seems possible in the routing matrix, but how does the Dirac calibration process deal with this?

I'm guessing that it will work, but that I will need to generate separate stereo Dirac filters for each pair of inputs, and drag them into the right slots for each configuration. I.e. the filters from my near fields go into channel 1&2 of slot 1, and the filters from my midfields go into channels 3&4 of slot 1.

Am I on the right track here? I hope so...as this would be ideal for me, so I can make better use of the 4 configurations to do things like add subwoofers, IIR filters only, or straight bypass.

Cheers,

Kris

Maybe this is it? www.minidsp.com/applications/home-theate...in-a-multizone-setup

However I'm not sure why you can't just do a 4-channel calibration.

I can confirm that it works just fine using my "monitor B" outputs from my audio interface to input channels 3&4 of my DDRC88a-bm. Instant switching from one set of monitors to the other, and Dirac Live running on each. Biggest problem I ran into was that I managed to wire my patchbay backwards and had left/right swapped; once that was fixed (yeah, I could have swapped it in software, but my OCD got the better of me and forced me to make the change in the wiring itself) it was great.

Thanks

Kris
