Hi

i have 2 Minidsp DDRC88a .

The first one is with BM the second one without. The first one works as it's supposed to.

The second one is the one with issues :

When i start Dirac, i set the Settings to Custom and 8 channels. When it scans it finds the DDRC88BM (not the first one that's not connected)

It finds also the Mic. then i get to the Outputs page. I change my channels the way i want to and Uncheck the Subwoofer on Out 3 . I go to the measurements page , and then i go back to the Outputs page , and the Subwoofer is checked again . No matter what i do , it remains checked everytime i leave the page and when i go back.
If i measure and i go to the Final page , the names of my Loudspeakers are gone .

That's a very odd behaviour and i tried pretty much everything, and i don't know what to do .

Any clue ?

You will need to run the 2nd unit with an older version of the software, which doesn’t have this “bug”. Dirac are aware but refuse to fix it.

You will need version 1.1.0 (build 6937) to do what you need. You will get a Username and the download link when you request it from MiniDSP. They are aware....

can i have both Software versions run on the same PC ? do you know ?

I didn’t try, I just rolled back, and never looked back.

I did have to run the measurements etc again, but it was very annoying, and took me ages to work out and give up.

I believe I read somewhere that you can use the one BM licence on both boxes. Maybe best to contact miniDSP support directly to ask.

I just tried some more , and i wanted to make the first measurement , just to try ... baam , no sound . I tried to look into every angle what it could possibly be. I even opened it up and changed the connector because i wanted to make an update of the Firmware. Not possible. Can't connect with the IO Tool to the Motherboard. I can connect to the Daughterboard but not the Mainboard.

Could that be the issue. ?

I'm sure they can solve it [the firmware upgrade, that is]
