I am complete new to miniDSP, I need to decide to go with SHD or DIY I am looking for answers on following

1. Is it possible to run Dirac on nanoSHARC with same resolution and sample speed as SHD?

2. Can I combine Dirac with a High-shelf and a low-shelf before Dirac processing? What is the maximum number of filters that can be implemented before Dirac processing?

3. Can I live change the gain of a High/Low shelf without distortion or clicks in the sound?

4. On NanoSHARC only 1 of 4 I2S interfaces are currently implemented, what is the time frame for implementing the other 3 I2S interfaces?

5. Volume, gain, inputs and other settings are set through USB.
a. Is there another possibility to control this settings?
b. Can me modify the NanoSHARC so we can control this settings with a microcontroller trough an different interface interface,
example I2C, SPI, or other?
c. Can this settings be changed while streaming music?
d. Where can I find information on the USB commands to change this settings?
e. Same questions for readout of input and output level.

6. Is there a gain setting for BiQuad filters? Live change?

7. Can I change BiQuad settings live while streaming without clicks?

8. SHD has a volume dial, is this controlling the volume of the DAC analog output or is volume implemented in DSP? AK4490 has volume control trough I2C, so I guess the front panel controller controls the volume by sending I2C commands to the AK4490 DAC.

@BFOD

Thanks for your interest in our platforms. In answer to your questions. Here are some comments:

1. Is it possible to run Dirac on nanoSHARC with same resolution and sample speed as SHD?
ANS: No it's not possible. Only SHD runs Dirac + 2x4HD configuration in 96k.

2. Can I combine Dirac with a High-shelf and a low-shelf before Dirac processing? What is the maximum number of filters that can be implemented before Dirac processing?
ANS: Sure, it's possible. See the SHD user manual for more details. It will clarify that there are lots of filters (PEQ/Xover) on top of Dirac live.

3. Can I live change the gain of a High/Low shelf without distortion or clicks in the sound?
ANS: Sure, applies to all filters. :-)

4. On NanoSHARC only 1 of 4 I2S interfaces are currently implemented, what is the time frame for implementing the other 3 I2S interfaces?
ANS: No plans and we never advertise our roadmap so wouldn't be able to answer that question.

ANS: No to all the above I'm afraid. No control API provided.

6. Is there a gain setting for BiQuad filters? Live change?
ANS: Biquad is a set filter. You'd have to recompute them and reload them. IT's not meant to be live changed.

7. Can I change BiQuad settings live while streaming without clicks?
ANS: Same answer as above. I think that maybe you're misunderstanding what a biquad is. i.e. hard coding of a filter.

8. SHD has a volume dial, is this controlling the volume of the DAC analog output or is volume implemented in DSP? AK4490 has volume control trough I2C, so I guess the front panel controller controls the volume by sending I2C commands to the AK4490 DAC.
ANS: Yes, it's controlling the DAC. No it's

We're unsure as to why you have all these questions but it sounds like you're maybe at a level of DIY (i.e. trying to control the SHD more than it already provides) that might not meet your needs. Please check out the user manual for more details. EVERYTHING is there can be done. If it's not in the user manual, it can't be done. Quite simple. :-)
