Hi,

Trying to fire up my mini-DSP with Dirac for the first time and it doesn't recognize the microphone. First tried a Dayton Audio but I now see that a Umik must be used so I have borrowed one from a friend.

Windows 7 recognizes the Umik-1, I have selected it in the control panel, and in fact it works on REW but I can't get the "Recording Device" recognized in the Mic Config panel of the Dirac software.

Any ideas of what I am doing wrong?

David

Hi David

Based on logs in our system, I believe that issue is now solved after talking to our team?
For others, in case this ever happens, it was the UMIK-1 not being correctly discovered by Windows as UMIK-1 descriptor. Simply uninstall the device from Windows device manager (right click = > Uninstall device). It will correct the issue.

More specifically, I had previously installed a Dayton Audio UMM6. Windows thought that the Dayton and UMIK-1 were close enough to the same unit while Dirac didn't. I had to uninstall the Dayton to get the UMIK properly installed. At that point the Dirac software recognized it and all was good.

Thanks to the factory team for persisting and helping me resolve this.
