I got the minidsp 2x4 HD. Feeling a little confused about setting up 4 subs with it. I found the MSO software page. I think I can figure it out... But... Would it be easier if I upgraded it to DIRAC Live (ie pay the $200 to flash upgrade it to DDRC-24)?

Does it even support four subs? They're all different. 3 are on the front wall under the projector screen and one small one on the side to help even the room response more.

The MSO would be a better solution for tuning your sub. It's a lot of text on that app note but it's not that hard!
We just wrote a LOT to make it easier to tune, not harder..

I'm in the same boat. I was going to buy a Dirac version , but I couldn't find much info on whether it would work for this. So, I bought a 2X4HD, but if the Dirac upgrade will handle the tuning of the 4 subwoofers, I'd gladly pay the extra.

Also, are any of the other MiniDSP products actually better for tuning 4 subwoofers? They are two pairs that are very different so I want the best option.

Don't upgrade to DDRC-24 status, as the 2 channel Dirac Live is not designed to be used just with subwoofers.

You already own what is probably the most appropriate miniDSP for your application.
