Hi, I am considering a DDRC-24 or DDRC-88A (with BM addon), but I wanted to ask here for information beforehand. :)
I have a preamp for input selection which I want to connect to the DDRC input. I want to be able to switch easily between these two cases:
  1. Stereo music via digital or analogue RCA stereo input. I want to add crossovers for the main speakers and subwoofer(s), so that the sub plays back the low bass.
  2. A 5.1 signal via analogue RCA input. The bass for the main speakers has to be added to the LFE channel subwoofer and crossovers are used for main and subwoofer. The centre and rear channels are routed to the respective main channels and attenuated.

As far as I understand, the DDRC-24 can do the first, but cannot do the second case, since it only has 2 channels for Dirac and no bass managment?
I guess I will have to switch both input on my preamp and preset on the DDRC for these two cases, but I can live with that.

Now I realised that the DDRC-88A does not have digital inputs at all.
The problem I have is that I need to connect a very noisy stereo source (PC), and I deal with this via an optical connection currently. So going all analogue is hard to do.

The SHD has analogue, digital and Dirac, but it does not support more than two Dirac channels, does it?

Also I realised, that I could probably replace my old preamp with a DDRC-88A or 88D. I will consider this option as well.

I went with the DDRC-24 after reading more about how the LFE channel is mixed. I can use Equalizer APO under Windows when I want to downmix a movie to stereo.
