Hi there, I recently got the DDRC-24 and love what it's doing for my sound in my very asymmetrical room. I'm using it as a DAC with USB from my PC. I have noticed that if I switch from USB to analog, and then back to USB input, the sound stage totally collapses, and everything is crammed in the very middle of the stereo image. If I just either restart my computer, or power cycle the MiniDSP, the sound stage comes back to normal.

I did a search on this topic and came across this post , the poster was having the exact same issue that I am, and he mistakenly identifies it as a problem with the Emotiva. I can confirm that I'm experiencing the same thing with my PC. Could you please help look into this bug?

Thanks in advance.

@ divertiti

Very odd indeed.. :-)
easiest would be to get all the files some your setup to be emailed to us: i.e. Dirac Live projects and DDRC-24 preset configuration files loaded in each slot. please start a tech support tix and email all this to our team (support.minidsp.com)

It's likely this bug www.minidsp.com/forum/dirac-series-suppo...erts-on-input-change

You can find an updated firmware at www.minidsp.com/userdownloads/dirac-series/ddrc-24-software

Thanks for the reply, however I already have the latest software and firmware, which is 1.5 and 1.6 respectively.

@devteam, I will send you the files and data this weekend.

Thanks.

@divertiti

How about emailing both your Dirac Live project + DDRC-24 files? We can have a look at them here. Sounds good?

PS: When you upgraded the latest DDRC-24 plugin, did you make sure to perform a complete Restore to default all? That's the way to upgrade the internal DSP code. If you didn't, you're most likely still running an old DSP binary.

A very similar effect happens if you mistakingly mess up your routing settings by activating for example Outputs 1 and 2 for Dirac 1 and 2 Channels at the same time on a 2.0 system. Everything gets crammed around the middle and the soundstage dies that way. But that does not explain why the effect stops when switching inputs, AFAIK.
