When I connect the headphone output from my Android phone as an input to the Dirac, and then plug the Dirac output into a line input on a power amp, the resulting sound level is inadequate.

I note "Maximum input level: 2 VRMS or 8 VRMS (jumper selectable)" on this page (www.minidsp.com/dirac-series/ddrc-22a). but while the jumpers are again mentioned in the manual (www.minidsp.com/images/documents/Dirac%2...%20User%20Manual.pdf) there are no instructions about how to find the jumpers. Should I open the box?

I would only change the jumper if that would give me a 4x increase in output volume.

I inserted a preamp between the Android phone and the Dirac, but that seemed to introduce clipping. Strange, since I would have thought that a 2 V input level to the amplifier would drive things adequately.

I can't be the only person who is struggling with this. Any recommendations?

DIRAC is set by default to attenuate -10db to avoid digital clipping , you can change this to -6 or -3 db or no attenuation at all....

Rodney is spot on. If you don't have enough input signal into the unit, you can easily modify the "attenuation level " inside the DDRC-22 utility. You need to be live and connected to do the change.
