Hi,
I got the DDRC-24 now for one day and already love it! However...

I am using the DDRC-24 in a 2.1 System. Signal Chain is straight forward and goes like this: ToslinkSource ---> DDRC-24 ---> SteroAmp & ActiveSub.

Although I did follow the "DDRC-24 for 2.1 System" guide I am not sure if use the full potential of the DDRC. I am wondering if it would be beneficial using PEQ and Time-Alignment on the DDRC Output Channels to glue everything together as much as possible (PEQ Filters and Delays using REW) and THEN let Dirac do it's magic.

If this is a good idea I have two follow on questions:
- Should I generate the PEQ Filters for each stereo channel individually or together?
- My stereo speakers can play full range all the way down (Klipsch RF-7). Should I still apply a 80Hz Hi-Pass to separate them from the Sub (Klipsch R-115SW) or can it be benificial to let them help out below 80Hz.

I'd adjust the time delay between the subs and main, but I'm not sure there would be much point to running a PEQ as well. I mean, unless the speakers themselves are wonky in which using PEQ to give them flat anechoic/gated response would be handy for the times when you move the speakers etc.

Some of these things you just have to try. eg As far as running the speaker all the way down, this can make integration more difficult. But try it.

So I spent all Saturday measuring, listening and creating different configurations for the DDRC-24.
The biggest improvement in bass performance was from changing the highpass and lowpass filters from BW to LR! In the end this gave me the best listening experience (measurements suggested two good configurations, but one of the two just "sounds" better):

* Sub Lowpass 80Hz 48db/Oct LR Filter
* Mains Highpass 80Hz 48db/Oct LR Filter (No Highpass always sounded boomie and very unprecise)
* No PEQs at all (let dirac do its thing)
* Dirac Filters with my favorite house curve

Unfortunately I was not able to time align my sub with the mains. No matter what I tried (with using a acoustic time reference since I can't do a loopback on a external soundcard) I was never able to get a consistent time-difference that made any sense (Sub is right next to my right main and the suggested delay was >30ms when using a fullrange sweep (10Hz - 20000Hz). - and when I change the sweep range REW measured delay changes drastically) :unsure:

But overall I am super happy with the results from the DDRC-24. Especially the stereo imaging went from not existent to spot on! (Thanks to Diracs FIR magic) :)

With regard to sub delay, it's important to ensure that REW has a wide bandwidth signal for the reference (i.e. use the speaker as the reference) and turn off the lowpass filters on the sub as well. Regardless, with that positioning I would set the delay to zero anyway and tweak it a few ms either way to get the flattest response on both channels (pre Dirac). In the end, it's not that critical, just as long as Dirac is not tryhing to fill in a large hole at the crossover.

As far as the delay for the sub goes im not messing with it anymore since all sounds fine to me and the frequency respons diagram and the waterfall do not indicate that something is off...

Here is the frequency response REW measurement from my listening position (1/48 smoothing). Green, Yellow and Blue are the Sub and the two mains with 80Hz Filter before room correction. The Purple is all together after room correction (with a house curve that boosts some bass)... looks good to me. I love how the nasty resonances at 22Hz and 44Hz are gone. And most important im very happy with how it sounds. :)
