Hi,

It is better to convert the sample rate before the DDRC-22D to 96kHz by a highend converter or play native sample rate and let do the DDRC-22D the conversion of the sample rate?

Or other worded - will a 96kHz/24 bit signal on the input 1:1 outputted?

Thanks.

Enno

Those are not actually the same question. However I don't beleive there's any guarantee that 96k input will be "bit perfect" as the ASRC happens regardless (if that's what you mean).

Thanks John,

I think those are the same question. I could send all kind of files to the miniDSP resampled by software to 96kHz/24bit to avoid resampling by the miniDSP. Makes that sense or not?

AFAIK the miniDSP units all use asynchronous sample rate conversion (ASRC) - this means they are running at their own clock, and they just take the input data in it's "clock domain" and convert it to the miniDSP processor's clock domain. So even if the input data is running at the same sample rate as the miniDSP sample rate, the miniDSP does not "lock" to the input clock - it does the ASRC anyway.

Not sure if that helps - ?

That helps. So it is useless to convert before the miniDSP to 96kHz/24bit.

We appears to be back in "not the same difference" territory again ;)
