OK, so I read the link and here it states.
" To use Dirac Live, you will need to have audio playing from your computer through your audio system. A basic method is to connect the line out jack from your computer to your preamp".
Great - this isnt mentioned in the manual anywhere for the 22 at all.
So i need to make a mini stereo line out to XLR L & R.
As I say, completely counter intuitive and never once mentioned in the manual as part of the connection process.
So the usb computer connection is there only for downloading the correction files,it has no audio test input to the 22 unit.
Can someone in tech confirm this on here as I completely fail to see how anyone could possibly know this from the connection diagrams in the manual ?
Yes I will post a screenshot of the Sound System tab - but hey, if the never mentioned cable is needed, then that's the simple fix..

That app note is for the software version of Dirac Live (and predates the miniDSP hardware boxes).

So the mini phone to XLR is a false trail then

Here is the screen shot with the 22A active.
So even this is telling me the 22A is the test playback device and its connected.

Oh my, I just tried while removing the other outputs and it worked! (everything is always connected).
I had no idea sorry you were right.

Beats me. I'd probably open it up and check the wiring, but you should raise a support ticket (if you haven't already).
