Hello,

first of all, sorry for my bad english. ;)

I do have a massive problem with my DDRC-88a.
Yesterday I wanted to update, because my unit has no green label so I need to upgrade the internal firmware.

I did that like described in the User manual.
I opened the unit and changed the connector.
After that I opened the "MiniDSP_8x8_IO_v2_3.exe" and updated the firmware.
At this procedure I need to reset the unit while plugging in the power, because otherwise the device wasn't attached.
Then everything went fine and it says "Successfully synchronized to the board".
When I click at "About" it says "Version v2.3, Firmware 2.10".

After that I need to update the "MCU Firmware", is that right?

I already tried that, but when I open the program "DDRC_88_BM_v1_5.exe", I can't connect to the 88a.
It always says "no connection, 1st, 2nd, 3rd retry...".
I was trying that for almost 2 hours with no success.

In the manual at page 78 it says "Start the DDRC-88BM plugin". So this plugin is the the program "DDRC_88_BM_v1_5.exe"??? :S

Furthermore I already started the DIRAC Calibration tool, but it can't find the 88A.

I think, there something wrong with my unit... or I'm doing something wrong... but was doing it step by step as described....:(

Thanks in advance for your help.

Greetings from Germany
Andreas

Hi, did you change the internal USB cable back to the daughterboard?

Hi,

I just opened the unit and unplugged the Connector from the daughterboard, and reconnected it to the 5-pin header on the main board (J34).

Do I need to change something else?
If yes, where can I find instructions how to do it?
In the manual I can't find anything about changing the internal USB?

Are you reading this manual:

www.minidsp.com/images/documents/DDRC-88A%20User%20Manual.pdf

The procedure starts on page 71. You need to follow every step.

Yes, I'm reading that manual.
Im starting at page 72 and did every step and everything went fine until page 74.
When I click on the "About button" it says that there is the new firmware version installed.

Okay... I'm a little bit confused now...
So after that firmware update, do I need to open the unit again and reposition the connector?

I didn't do that... so maybe that's the problem??
