Hi all,

I have the DDRC 88A + BM.

The Dirac Live calibration tool is missing +/- 70% of the recordings of the microphone, the pre last measurement stay's in the recording bar or it stay's empty during a recording, very irritating because a full measurement take's about 3 times the time that is needed.

I use a 5 meter powered high grade USB extension cable connected to a Late 2015 27" Imac Retina 5K (with 24 GB 1867-MHz DDR3 SDRAM)

Gathered technical data
Software Version: 1.1.0.8244

Present Output Devices:

Selected Input Device:
OperatingSystem: Mac OSX 10.12 64 bit
CPU Speed: GenuineIntel

Best regards,

Mario

Same question send to Dirac (link Dirac Live calibration tool), answer from them,

Have you tried it using a short regular USB cable? Also try a different USB port.

@ Mario

Can you please clarify what you mean by "70% recording missing" ? Some screenshots would help as we're not sure of what is at play here..

We're guessing that you did read the user manual steps (www.minidsp.com/images/documents/DDRC-88A%20User%20Manual.pdf) and p18. When you setup the systems (i.e. steps 1-3) what are you seeing? Surely you wouldn't pass these steps in terms of levels for each of the channels in that OUTPUTS & Level page. Screenshots would help for us.

ALso note on your UMIK-1, make sure that you're not using a very long USB cable. IT could be your issue here.

Ok lets say the first recording is running ok, next position with the mic I start the measurement and the sound is running but the previous recording on the lower bar stay's there and I get a false measurement, I start the same measurement again lower bar is now empty but with the sound running there is no visible recording on the lower bar, the result again a false recording, I start the measurement again and now all is running ok, next measurement is most of the time the same as above, so I get about 30% good results for a complete measurement.

I always stop the measurement direct when its false but I always have to wait until the measurement is completed, so all in all its taking a lot of time for a complete 8 channel measurement.

Unfortunately without any screenshots as we asked above, we've really got not much idea of the issue although it's 90% possible that it's coming from your USB cable being too long as already suggested by John. USB 2.0 is max 3m. If you have longer, use an active USB extender will be required.
