It's great to clarification, certainly does assist with making a simplified set of processes for getting to a baseline then tuning for better measurements.
Do any of the steps taken before doing BM affect which crossover filter types and slopes are not available to use?

I have noticed that in the drop-down selection of crossover types, some of the selections are grayed out, and I am not sure why. Is this what you are asking? BTW, I created a short write-up on how to implement bass management. The link is shown below. You may find it useful.

I think they just ran out of processor juice.
I am not miniDSP support.

Yes, wondering why some filter types are greyed out and not available to use.

Yes that makes sense, John, cheers. I'll start a new thread on this is I'm using an 88 not the 2x4 discussed here.
Jerry, I have used your guides quite a lot thank. I would have found the process far harder without them.

This discussion has been about the 88A and the bass management plug-in, not the 2x4.

Right again, Jerry. Must have been looking at the 2x4 in the topic title.

@devteam Can you comment on the greyed out crossovers and slopes please?
If John is correct (not enough processing power) is there a max number of active channels (2.1?) that would allow these crossovers to be available?

As with all of the miniDSP stuff, the processing resources are statically allocated. So for any given plugin, biquads are allocated to specific tasks and their "CPU cycles" can't be reclaimed, even if you don't use them.

I'm not sure if that's what you're asking, but I think what WOULD be interesting is a discussion on where the biquads are most needed in the DDRC-88BM plugin. Perhaps miniDSP would change the resource allocation in a future release if there was a compelling reason from users. (Or not - I doubt they are making much if any money on that plugin!)

(Hopefully I typed enough words this time for my post to be acceptable to the public at large.)

Less options is probably a good thing for me, reduces the occurance of me chasing my tail.
