I have been using Dirac's software trial programs to learn more before taking the plunge and buying a DDRC-22. I have created a filter that I like a lot - will I be able to download it into the DDRC-22?

I've been reading the thread about not being able to manipulate delay after the filter is created, etc, as you can with the software player. The filter I have does not need tweaking - its good as is. I presume I should be able to do as well with a new filter after I get the hardware, but just in case...can it be done?

Thanks.

I'm afraid that you won't be able to load that filter easily.. These are software (although similar) have never intended to be used as cross platform (i.e. zero testing done by Dirac else it would imply a HUGE workload for them knowing they have many licensees..

A target curve is easily saved. Just redo a measurement (15min tops) and just load your target curve. It will be best.

OK, thanks. I thought maybe if I move my filter file into the folder where filters are stored in the MiniDSP software installation, that they might then be available to download into the DDRC22.

Since I have gotten significantly different results with different measurements, I was concerned I might not be able to duplicate the result I have achieved with the Dirac trial software. But I think I have figured out the optimal mic placement locations for my measurements, and I have duplicated them fairly well, so I am sure I will get something I am happy with.

Incidentally, I have had trouble loading projects back into the Dirac (trial) calibration software after saving them - I get a message that there is a mismatch between my system configuration and the project settings, and that I should reconfigure my X-USB, which is the computer device through which the test signal is playing - even though no change has been made to the configuration. This should not be an issue when I am using the MiniDSP hardware (I trust). And so far, I have not modified my target curves.

@jwitkin

Just to clarify, are you trying to load file generated from DDRC-22 Dirac Live back into the "Dirac Live Trial" software?
If so, it is a similar reply. I'm afraid that cross compatibility isn't supported..

If it's within Dirac Live trial software, I'm not sure as to why you got the issue though.. Good news is that the DIrac tech support team should be able to answer that question.. :-) We unfortunately don't know much of the PC/MAC version of Dirac (i.e. Dirac Live trial).

No, other way around. I have created some filters with Dirac Calibration software that is part of the Dirac trial. I then load it into the Dirac Audio Processor (trial) software. as the playback device on my mac. I was hoping to instead load the same filter file into the DDRC22 (when I receive it - its on the way). I can access the filter files in the Dirac installation folder. I was hoping the filter files created by both versions of the Calibration tool have the same format. ?
