I have Dirac DDRC-22D Stereo digital I/O working with Dangerous DAC for recording studio control room. With Amphion speakers, this sounds GREAT. Love it!

As a Music Tech teacher, I would like to put together a portable rig for measuring and then CORRECTING any room I visit.

Current hardware testing equipment ==>>
MacBookPro
SoundDevices USBPre2
Cross-Spectrum Calibrated Dayton EMM-6 microphone
Cross-Spectrum Calibrated MiniDSP UMIK-1 microphone

Current software ==>>
REW
FuzzMeasure
Sonarworks

Thinking about purchasing a Dirac DDRC-22A Stereo analog I/O for this rig.
This will allow:
1) Measuring with Dirac software
2) Correcting with the DDRC-22A software (for convenient, demonstration purposes)

But, for this traveling rig, maybe all I really “need” is the Dirac software license? Actually, maybe I can use the license I already PURCHASED, and install on TWO computers? I believe this is allowed?

What other advantages/disadvantages are there for DDRC-22A vs. software only correction with my MacBookPro?
For example, if I want to run Pro Tools application in my demonstrations, the DDRC-22A would make this much easier.

Never mind.

I just realized how cool it is to run Pro Tools off my laptop in ANY control room. If I can measure and than correct in ANY control room, that will be AWESOME. Therefore, I TOTALLY see that investing the in a DiracLive stereo analog unit will be worth it.

@ Tambling

Sounds like a great setup. Do keep us updated on how things go for your investigations.
We'd love to see pics of your setup and happy to answer more questions if any.
