Hi,
I'm lost and need some guidance. All I know is I want Dirac Live :)
Here is my equipment list,
11.2 Pioneer SC1522k with pre-outs
old Denon 3801 receiver with pre-outs and 7.1 Ext-in (so I can use the amps)
old 2ch Krell amp
Minidsp 2x4
7.1 speaker set up
3 subs (soon to be 4) and a Clark transducer
HTPC, cable box and TV all connected via hdmi

I would like to be able to
1) use wasapi since my media player (Kodi) uses it.
2) decode hd audio (dtsma/truehd)
3) not have hdmi handshake issues
4) bass mgmt (just picked the 2x4, yet to install)
5) set it and forget it
6) stay under $1000 (the lower, the better)

I'm leaning towards the 88BM or the software download. Any suggestions are appreciated.

88bm is a good choice as the receiver does all the switching/selection/decoding.

As correctly pointed out by John, best that you keep your receiver to do his tasks. Then just add DDRC-88A with the BM feature to have Dirac live for your setup. It's the easiest way to keep existing decoding and audio streaming that you already have..

Thank you for your replies.
From a pricing standpoint, I considered the NanoDL, but correct me if I'm wrong,
1) I would not get HD audio
2) hdmi handshake issue may come up

@ wpbpete

1) nanoAVR DL only process up to 48k (common sample rate for AVR room correction actually.. ;-)
2) HDMI handshake really depends. Product is about 2years old, lots of firmware rev went into it to remove each "unique" HDMI config from various manufacturers who didnt' follow standards.. we're quite good by now.. :-)
