On occasion, someone running a Dirac Live calibration might select the "7.1 Configuration" without realizing that this selection adds a 10dB correction to the LFE channel. Since the 10dB correction doesn't really affect the actual Dirac Live measurements, I don't understand why a project can't be loaded, have the configuration changed from 7.1 to Custom, and have this remove the 10dB bass boost. When I tried to do this, DLCT issues the following warning:

Is changing this behavior something MiniDSP might consider?

Hello Jerry

Not sure to be honest, that's the behavior of Dirac live rather than miniDSP (little we can change.. :-)
My thinking is that indeed you can't easily change because when a project is measured, calculated, it's just a different set of conditions (algorithm). The 10dB isn't applied as a level boost on that specific channel but more inside the algorithm as to how the channels are compared and indeed applied as part of the filter process. i.e. it's the first step of the wizard so some different set of assumptions from there on (even though to you, it looks like you're just taking measurements). It could very well be custom with only 4ch. Or custom with 8ch (like a 7.1) but indeed 5.3 setup. Do you see what I mean?

Thank you for clarifying. While it is rare that someone might want to change the configuration after the measurements have been taken, I though it would be reasonable to ask whether it would be possible. No concerns going forward.
