No doubt there's some dumb newbie error involved here. I upgraded my system to 7.1 from 5.1. I had the DIRAC 88A on the previous system so installed it in the upgraded one as well and re ran the calibration.

All fine and good. Specified 7.1 system this time. Went through the initial setup. All good. Got the white noise on all channels within spec. Ran the calibration. It ran for each individual speaker and the sub. Got curves for all parts of the system. Optimized all. Went to the last page. Put the new setup in the first slot of the 88A.

BUT

The two back channels didn't make it to the last page. In Column 1 , the front, left, right, sub and the two side surrounds are shown. No sign of the two rears. Slots 7 and 8 where they should be are blank.

Where did they go? Do I have to do the whole thing all over again to get them?

Also, I did copy the file over the older one just because I'm lazy. But when I just opened the file again, it shows 7.1, and all the curves.

I do note that it grouped the left/right channel and the surround channels together on the page where the correction curves are listed.

Is it possible everything is there but simply listed wrong on the last page?

Thanks.

You have to delete the old filter set from that slot first, by dragging it to the trashcan.

OK, bear with me, I'm a real greenhorn with this stuff. You don't get to that last page where the trash can is until the end. So if I drag the old stuff in the first column to the trash can, what do I do next to get the new stuff to replace it?

Thanks!

Hi, you copy the new filter set into the empty slot, same way you did the first time.

Could I suggest that you have a look at the User Manual? There's a page on how to use the Export screen.

:)

I did. Clearly I don't understand it. I clicked on export, nothing happened.

So I should be able to go to the last page and fix this without having to run all the calibrations again?

Not all of us are computer whizzes. I'm 71 and started out using mechanical calculators. I'll bet there aren't a lot of folks here who know how to use one of those! :>)

OK :)

IF you saved the project ("Save..." button) after you did the measurements before, then you can click the "Open..." button and select the file that you saved. Then on Filter Design tab you can click Optimize, then you can click on the Export tab (or the "Proceed" button at lower right) to go to the Export screen. Then drag and drop the blue box at the top left onto an empty slot. (This is from memory, I am not connected to a Dirac box right now.)

If you did NOT save the project last time, then I'm afraid that you have to do the measurements again :( If that is the case, please remember to click "Save..." after doing the measurements :)

I did save the project but the drag and drop just wouldn't work. So I deleted all projects and started all over again.

This time it worked! Thanks for your help!!
