I have a fault or problem with my miniDSP DDRC-88A. It has happened four times since I bought the unit that the surround speakers starts to sound really bad. As that something is broken in the speakers. If I reset the DDRC-88A the fault disappears. By reset I mean disconnecting power.

One of the times when it happened the unit had also by it self switched from input 3 to input 1. It had also turned off the Dirac Live / filters by itself.

Another thing I find odd. When I turn on and off the Dirac filters from the DLCT-program I hear no difference at all to the sound. Either Dirac filters are on all the time or they never turned on. Leaning towards always turned on since I hear the difference between different target curves.

Anyone familiar with my problem?

Best regards

A guy on avsforum.com had similar problems. He managed to describe the distorition sound that is coming from the surround speakers very good. He described the sound like this:

"Yestarday for the 1st time I had distorted sound coming form the Surround Speakers (it was a "the Matrix"-kind of sound, if you know what I mean)... a Refresh DSP Program solved that"

And that is exactly the sound I hear.

I have firmware 2.17 in my unit.

@ JONTRE

Sounds very odd symptoms indeed. Please correct me if I'm wrong but you've already got a tech support ticket opened with our team. Correct? If so, i'm sure they will follow up and take it from there. Best to just use "one" path of communication (tech support already answered), else we're doing double work and getting confused on the information. Thanks for your help.
