Hi

With 22a im getting static noise that sounds like pop/sparkle on the right channel only. Changed the input voltage from 2v to 8v by removing the jumpers. Before removing them i had the same noise but sometimes the speakers would make violent noise on start up. Now thats gone so far but the static noise is still there. Tried adjusting the gains on the 22a and the pre amp but that didnt do much. Looks like it gets worse the longer i turn it on.

Anything else i can do?

Cheers
D

Hopefully I get some help here...

I have parts ordered for conversion to 22D but I would still like to solve this issue if I can.

When there's no filter I hear no static noise on the right channel.

Swapped the cables and it's still there on the right channel only. It comes from the tweeter horn.

When I lower the output level of the unit, the noise volume also decreases, but that means I cannot turn up the volume without clipping it.

Any suggestions?

When you say you swapped cables, is that on the input side or the output side (of the DDRC)?

If you swap on the output side, that will tell you if it's the DDRC or downstream of it.

Tried swapping the cable left to right, and the noise moves to the left

That would be the DDRC then. You should open a support ticket, I don't think anyone on the forum can do anything.

Was hoping they might chime in.

I have a feeling the noise kicks off when I use laptop as my aource (use it only for watching stuff). Right now, it aounds fine after turning pff everything and placing back the jumpers so as to turn it 2v. Listening via airport express to dac to pre amp,

Hi David, honestly, I'm going to unsubscribe from this thread, if there's an issue that miniDSP needs to address I think a support ticket is the way to go. If you want help from the community about something to do with setup or configuration, it's best (IMO) to start a thread with a title related to something we could actually help you with. miniDSP have never addressed the issue of which parts of the forum are miniDSP support and which are community "helping each other."

@ David,

few things could be a possibility here:
- Running an old firmware along with new firmware.
- Having a target curve that is way too much boost and potentially overdriving the DSP. The DDRC-22 utility has a setting for attenuation, make sure you keep it at 10dB if you have large boost.

Maybe provide the project you're running in your tech support ticket.
