I'm a happy DDRC22-D owner, but I've a question: I need to switch off the internal 96 khz upsampling function...
in practice I should connect the 22D output to a DAC which handles sample rate only up to 20 bit 48khz: it is possible?

I don't think this is possible. The reason it's done is not so much for upsampling but resampling all input to a single known rate (96 kHz). This greatly simplifies the digital signal processing algorithms that follow, eliminating the multiple adjustments to their math routines that would otherwise be required to accommodate the many different sample rates in use these days.

Sorry to say it, but your DAC has been left behind in the race for higher sample rates...

I already have another DAC, PCM 24/384 and DSD, but I wanted to buy an old (but gold) Wadia 15 to connect a CD player, but using the 22D room correction.
Unfortunately it does seem not possible...

Use the openDRC di.. it does 24/48 .. can use acourate or other FIR generators and has more fine tuning (peq etc) than the DDRC 22
And its $600 cheaper...

It's a good idea, but I do'nt know Open DRC.
It seems to me difficult to use...

It's as simple as using Dirac... use the AcourateDRC program to compute the FIRS and you get a 6 band parametric that allows you to hear fine tuning in real time as you adjust.. DIRAC has no peq , and thus all the tuning you can do is target curves only.. not quite as effective as using a PEQ.

I use both the DDRC 22 and the openDRC di .. can't quite decide which is the best....
Be aware , with BOTH products , you incur about a -7db attenuation .. make sure using them that you can get adequate volume out your amp.. effectively the -7db atten will divide your amp output by 4... Dirac allows you to set the attn to either -10 , -6, -3 or 0 .. but you got to be careful of digital clipping ..

The Behringer SRC2496 is a sample rate converter that can convert 96 to 44.1, I bought one on EBay a while back for $125.00 shipped.
