If understand well, in DLCT each channel has a specific target assigned.
If that true, when I reload a project, I got all my channels assigned back to their targets. I can then modify at will my the targets in each channel.
Suppose now I actually begin to modify the center channel and suppose also that at a given point I change my mind and decide to revert to the original target for that channel, after having already modified the targets for other channels. The aim is not to lose the good changes to these targets and only to revert back for the center target.
How can I select the target file belonging to a specific channel in a project, as it was saved originally in the project itself?
Thanks, Marco

@ Marco,

Not 100% we're talking of the same thing here but under Dirac live, there is indeed a LOAD/Save target.
please see section of user manual here: www.minidsp.com/images/documents/Dirac%2...%20User%20Manual.pdf
p28 talking of load/save and screenshot of target editor under p25.

Ultimately the user has to keep track of what target files belong to what project.
Think about one would like to re-use the same target into another new project. In order to use that target the user would have to rember which filename it corresponds to, because just saving the overall project doesn't retain the link to the actual target filename. Perhaps that is the thing that I was trying to explain in my question.

Told differently, Inside the view of the project there is no hint of what filename each target takes its data from.

A saved target file contains the targets for all channels. There is no way to load/save targets for individual channels. And as far as remembering which targets were used with which projects, you could either keep a written log of your Dirac activity, or you could come up with a file naming scheme that makes it easy to recognize which targets and projects are related.

Is this what you are asking?

One single saved target file would be fine if you had two channels only in your project, assuming you have two channels in a normal stereo pair.
But if you have 8 channels, it is presumable that they would come in 4 pairs, and most probably 4 pairs of different types. More importantly, each pair with a different target curve.
Hence, if in a project you can have just one single target file, it would be a sort of limitation and, perhaps, a misuse of the target concept, given that a target curve tailors the correction around the best possible for a given speaker..
Thank you for your reply, I'm just trying to find the best way to use such a powerful object.

I don't disagree with what you are saying but, unfortunately, it is not a capability of the current implementation. I suggest you submit your idea as an enhancement request that MiniDSP could forward on to Dirac.

After fiddling a bit further with DLCT used with the DDRC-88A , I sorted out my doubts on the target curves subject.
I realized that:
1) When saving to a file with the Save Target button, all eight target curves will be saved in the file as a whole set. As stated in the user manual (1.0.4), from the Dirac site, this will allow "to rivisit and tweak" from several different custom target curves sets.
2) Saving a project to a file it will store all the existing eigth target curves, but this will also lose the chance to trace the target curves set back to the storing file, if any.
To my view, this "traceability" question is in some far loose way related to another circumstance in which would be desirable to get a specific project back from the storages of the DDRC-88A, when, after several months of the job done, nobody wil recall what is the contents inside in terms of project details. But thaty admittedly is a different question. Thank you

I saved individual targets from a project, and they are different. I saved LR, C, SURR LR, and SBR LR. This is how the speakers were grouped. When I go in to edit them, they have different, correct values.

I'm using the basic Dirac curve targets as a staring point for custom targets because then I get correct cutoff points for each speaker set. I've edited them and then loaded them in the project, and all works as I'd expect.
