Open a support ticket and you'll find out. There will probably be no reply before mid next week though (chinese new year break).

I did it in order to solve the problem and the problem was solved by chance. Nobody explained me really what was the problem. I don't know whether, the next time I have to update the software, I'm going to live the same situation.

I opened a ticket and they reset my license - but they said they didn't know what caused the problem.

Dear All,

Thanks for your patience while we were on Chinese New Year holiday break (our only long holiday of the year.. :-).
We're not sure how this happened but we'd love to get some feedback to make sure it doesn't happen again since we can't reproduce it here. We'd need more info from some of you so for whoever this happened, please provide accurate info for us. Here is some feedback first.

- Dirac Live can only be installed on ONE computer. If it's installed on more, here is the step to follow:
A) Connect a USB cable between your PC and the DDRC unit. You must be connected.
B) Make sure that your PC has a live internet connection (required to reset the Dirac server)
C) Uninstall the software, it will clear the license on the Dirac server so you can install it on another PC.
If you don't do the above step, you will run into a "max limit of install reached" error message. We need to "release" the license manually at that point by opening a tech support ticket with us from minidsp.desk.com.

- During an update, you shouldn't have to do anything and the software will automatically update itself. In this last update, to be safe we asked to uninstall the previous version and that may have caused the problem.

- So we know what happened here. Can you please get back to us with:
OS revision:
All conditions from above A/B/C were met?: YES/NO
Build number previously installed? (if you remember).

Thanks!

Hello,
in response to your questions:

...
- Dirac Live can only be installed on ONE computer.
...

I have been always using the same PC (Windows Vista Home Premium - Service Pack 2)

...
A) Connect a USB cable between your PC and the DDRC unit. You must be connected.
...

The USB cable was connected between the PC and the DDRC during all the process of updating.

...
B) Make sure that your PC has a live internet connection (required to reset the Dirac server)
...

The PC had a live internet connection during all the process of updating

...
C) Uninstall the software, it will clear the license on the Dirac server so you can install it on another PC.
...

I did it without any apparent problem but the server doesn't cleared the license and an error message like this "max limit of install reached" was displayed.

...
Build number previously installed? (if you remember).
...

Sorry I don´t remember

The only thing that I did different was to uninstall the previous version of DDRC-22 tool, before to install the newest one but I don't think that this procedure has any relevance to the problem.

I hope that my answer helps you to debug this problem.

Thanks

Unfortunately, I didn't have the unit plugged-in when I run the new installer, so I guess the uninstall of the older version didn't successfully updated the license server?
Now I am getting the "max limit" error.
It would be nice if the installer was prompting the user to make sure that the unit is plugged in before continuing with the uninstall of the previous version.

Today I have been making a measurement and the program has crashed several times. I think a more intensive software debugging before to deliver a new version could be a good idea.

Thanks in advance

Sorry, no. I'm not a Mac user. Didn't realise that your problem was that Dirac didn't support your older OS. That's a real bummer. Maybe someone will come along with suggestions....
