Look at page 37 of the user guide, which covers input voltages. It clearly specifies the input voltages for the unbalanced connections, but no mention is made regarding the input voltage for balanced connections.

The Product Brief says the balanced Input voltages are switchable 4V or 8V. Is all jumpers open the 8V setting? And the User Guide clearly warns against using balanced connections if the jumpers are in the closed position. So how does one configure the 4V input setting for a balanced connection? I think the documentation is very confusing for such an important topic as voltage settings.

And finally, assuming I have the balanced input setting at 8V, what is the correct output voltage setting? Also 8V?

Hi Jerry, it's in the specs on p39 - 8V.

Hi Jerry, it's in the specs on p39 - 8V.

I just edited my original post and added a couple of additional questions. So there is no 4V balanced input selection? And since the balanced input is 8V, how does one select the correct output voltage, 4V or 8V? I have it set to 4V, driving an Emotiva XPA-7 amp. What will I notice if I change output voltage to 8V?

There's no 4V input setting that I'm aware of...

Do you know the input sensitivity of the XPA7?

Basically, the 8V output setting will give you more max output.

Unfortunately, I could not find the input sensitivity. By more max output, do you mean that the levels for each channel will be higher? One thing I have noticed after the 88A was inserted into the signal path is that the measured output of each channel is approximately 5-6 dB lower than when I was using Audyssey without the 88A. Will changing the voltage erase this difference?

If you flip all the switches from down to up, you will get 6dB more level. (If you only flip some, you will need to redo your DLCT calibration and may or may not get more level, it depends)

Great! I'll try that, but not until the software updates are released early next week. I would feel more comfortable re-doing the calibration after changing the dip switch settings.
