To moderators,
for my 96Khz problem (I love a multibit DAC that accepts only 48Khz but the miniDSP 22D outputs 96Khz only), you said earlier that "there should be some SPDIF ASRC box".

But I wonder,
is there the way to add your miniDIGI ( www.minidsp.com/products/minidspkits/minidigi ) to my configuration?
Or a already built version of the miniDIGI to buy?

Behringer has a sample rate converter, the SRC2496.
I believe this would be a good option to convert from 96 to 48.

I am also inquiring as to how low the noise floor is with the 22D.
When you went to a linear power supply there was no difference in the noise floor?
Was there any improvement in performance at all?

I have Avantgarde Duo Omega horns that are extremely sensitive and I have gone to great lengths to minimize system noise.

Hi MrDerrick,
In case I'll try that for sure. For now I use the DAC of my player: simpler and still very good (and has digital in-outs for an external DSP).

Regarding the noise, I use TAD CR-1 speakers, that are not as sensitive as your Avangarde (in system composed by Accuphase DP-720 player, Accuphase C-2420 pre and Accuphase A-46 power amp, with all good balanced and short connection) and with the "D" I really don't ear any difference if the miniDSP is in the chain or not, even by putting my ear almost on the mid/tweeter cone.

With the "A" and "DA", I could ear a slight "shhhh" and some RF interferences, again, only by putting my ear near the cones at zero signal.

I added the linear power supply because the stock one failed after 3 days of use and I wanted to be sure to get a good one, but It didn't improve the "A" and "DA" behaviour regarding noise and interference, so I think it is a matter of shielding on the output board and not a problem of PSU. Probably the analogue part of the output board are way more sensitive than the digital one, and more accurate construction would be needed to improve the noise floor.

I have the same issue with aDDRC-22DA unit purchased recently. Similar noise issues and MiniDSP replaced the analog output with the similar DIGI_FP board and completely removed the noise which I found to be rather high in frequency and nothing like a ground loop. A power supply upgrade would not have fixed this. My MiniDSP 10x4 units make absolutely no noise at all with any amp I have used so I suspect the analog output unit used in the Dirac series is not a fully engineered unit and needs some work to allow it to work in the various real world circumstances we all live with. This is a shame though as I was lucky enough to have a Naim DAC2 to use and works extremely well with superb sound and drive but I had hoped to eliminate another component and related interconnects.

4) DDRC-22D is all digital so you're completely removing any AD/DA additional conversions and gain structure mismatch which would mean best performance in all systems no matter how you look at it. You could do an easy test by getting a DIGI-FP (we'd be happy to provide the rear panel). It's a simple replacement of the IO card. Nothing else to be changed. A 10min job. :-)

Hi

Interested in this. So I just need to buy this DIGI-FP and that will turn my 22A into a 22D? Is installation easy?

Also, is there any plan to make a board that accepts analog input and releases digital output at all?
