I am intending to purchase a Dirac DDRC 22D
I already have an openDRC di
I intend to use the Dirac for room correction and use the minisharc 96k plug in with it
Essentially the dirac for RC and the openDRC as a parametric etc
I run into Meridian DP6000 speakers which take a digital signal.
I use a computer as source always (Logitech media server on a squeezebox touch or J river using a USB to spdif interface
My questions are:
Would it be as good or more cost effective to just get the stereo version of Dirac live and run it on my computer rather than add another box?
Does the DDRC come with a full version of Dirac live or is it like my openDRC where you use a dedicated version of AcourateDRC and all you get is the Dirac Live Calibration Tool Stereo for miniDSP ?
Its a mission for me to upgrade my openDRC unit as I have to send it back to hong kong from South Africa and postage is huge..so I'm not going to do that

Rodney,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Some of our team members being away for holidays. thanks for the patience!
I believe that we may have answered a similar post in our tech support portal already. If so here is a quick repeat.
- The DDRC is similar to the Dirac Live on a PC, the difference being the lack of management and having a PC running at all times to process the filters. The Dirac Live Calibration Tools (DLCT) used is customized for miniDSP (logo). It's not the same as the one sold on Dirac Website. It won't run filters on a PC.

We may provide in the future an upgrade path remotely for OpenDRC clients (without sending the box back) We may consider that. If you are interested, let us know via a support ticket and we can see if we can help.

Hoping this info helps.
