Why does the DDRC-22D lack an on/off switch? I suppose it does not draw much power but I would like to turn off the 3 little, bright, LED flashlights pointing at me.

Tim,

The miniSHARC is indeed only drawing less than 5W (very efficient design) and mechanically we didn't allow space for it. Maybe in the future we can add it. Adding a switch on the 5V could be done I guess. It's quite easy and safe since it's DC @ very low current. I guess a good idea for future improvements of the platform!

A power ON and OFF trigger with input and output would have been a cool option at least in my setup.
I use An OPPO HA-1 Has a DAC/pre-amp and a BC-Acoutique EX-522 bloc amp.
Both have a trigger, the HA-1 pilots the power start module of the amp.
Sweet thing to be honnest.

Having the same on the DDRC-22 would have been great, one input to get control and one ouput to link the amp.

That being saif there is outboard solutions like a master/salves power strip. The pre-amp can be on the Master outlet and the DDRC-22 on one of the slaves.
Pre-amp starts give the order to the slaves outlet to ouput AC power, DDRC-22 starts.
Pre-amp shuts off, slaves goes off.

I gave a thought about the lack of power management on the DDRC-22s.

Instead of tweaking the DDRC-22 why not going for an upgraded PSU?
It could be possible to propose a decent linear power supply that will be much better than the stock one.
This LPS could feature and ON/OFF swtich, A 12v trigger pilot with 12v output to link other triggered units.

Maybe it could be possible to add other power control possibilities.

Dear devteam,

so at the end do you have any plans to integrate an on/off switch into your units?
It would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

@ Svevo16,

can you please clarify which unit you're referring to? We have quite a lot of "miniDSP" products. Some where that would matters, others where it would be hard (i.e. no space). For the DDRC-22 series it's indeed planned to modify the mechanical panel at the back. Not yet sure when first batch will be out though.. :-(

Do you think it would be possible to add in a trigger too?

Yes, my question was related to the DDRC-22 series. Any rough timing ideas (2015: yes/no?)?
